Ask The Professor

Q: Why do other webmasters say I’m an amateur because I use a free webmail account for my contact email?

A: A lot of crappy spammers and cheaters hide behind the anonymity of free email accounts. TGP site reviewers ban such emails outright. Adult webmasters as a whole tend to associate free email addresses with deception or naivete. A free email account has it’s uses but it would be wise to try and at least use the personal email account you get from your ISP when you sign up for sponsors or submit to TGPs.

It’s really not that expensive to have an email account which will make you appear more professional to your fellow adult webmasters. You can register a domain for less than ten dollars a year. You can host that domain on a small virtual server account for an additional ten bucks a month. Part of that hosting account is an email address, which will be yours and yours alone.
