Q: Is it just me, or are there more and more sponsor programs then ever before? It seems like every site has a webmaster program these days.

A: It's a great way for a paysite, content producer or product supplier to get others to do the selling for them. The sponsor/affiliate relationship on the web is kind of like Avon squared. There's no way any company could pay a sales force as large as one can get with affiliates. Since the sponsor doesn't have to pay the affiliate until they make a sale, the benefits of the system are definitely there.
