There are many ways to pay for and obtain content for your adult site. One way is to get that content on CD-ROM. Some content providers will only sell their product in disk form. Those that do feel they are protecting their interests because a hacker can't break into their machines or servers and steal their hard work.

For you, the adult webmaster, there are advantages and disadvantages to CD-only content. In this lesson, we will cover those examples and also inform you of what you get when you buy content on CD and where you can go on the web to purchase it.

When you purchase a content CD, you get your desired package of images or video usually on a CDR disk. This is the kind of disk that can only be written on and never completely erased to use as new. Like with any CD, you should take care to keep it clean, scratch free, away from heat and machinery that would damage it.

Your content CD package will also include the license from the provider that enables you to post its contents on your site. If the content provider is the creator of the photos or videos, they will also provide you with the proper information about the legality of the age of the models within. While some content CDs will have the files named in a way that suggests what's within, you might want to choose a CD provider that names their images and videos with numbers and letters to keep prying eyes from knowing what's on the disk. You can use software that allows you to view all the images on your CD in thumbnailed form to make working with it easier.

It can take up to two weeks to get your content CD depending on shipping methods and there is a risk of it being damaged in the mail. If your CD is stolen, you may have an expensive loss. If you choose to purchase CD content, make sure your provider has insurance for mail damage. If you do not like your content CD, you might have difficulty in getting a refund from them. Read their terms of service carefully before you pay any money.
