If you are just starting out or have monetary issues, you have a chance to gain content for your site or galleries absolutely free. Free content does not mean stealing images off another site or downloading them from news groups. Content obtained in this manner is illegal and unethical. You do not have permission of the makers of that content and you have no guarantee of the legality of the model's ages. If you truly cannot afford to purchase content from a provider, then there are free content sources that will let you use their images on your web, with a catch.

Nothing in this world is absolutely free. Everything has a price and your price for free images or video comes in the form of advertising the site of your free provider. Whether the free goods come from a sponsor or a free broker or other source, the privilege of using their product requires you comply with their terms of use. Abusing that privilege will get you in trouble and possible legal action.

The main advantage of free content is its price. If you use sponsor's free content, you can sell to those sponsors better because you can show your visitors true samples of the sponsor product. If you use content of a free plug-in provider, you can save bandwidth as free plug-ins are usually served from the plug-in sponsor's site.

There are disadvantages to free content. No matter how many sponsors there are, their free content will used by many other webmasters than you. Many sites may not list your gallery or free site if you use content they've seen before. If you're incorporating content that requires a reciprocal link to the provider, you may be penalized with a lack of listings or link positions. Some adult link lists consider free content unprofessional. Most TGPs will not list a gallery where the individual images are posted on an HTML page along with a reciprocal link to the free provider.

If you use free content try to find some that is regularly updated and requires as few advertising tie-ins as possible. Some of the best sponsors are the ones that have huge amounts of images for affiliates. There are free image and gallery providers whose advertising is unobtrusive or only require a banner on a main page. There are even free plug-in providers who allow you to change the layout of the plug-in so it compliments your page.

Just like pay content, there are three basic types of free: Sponsor content, Plug-in content and free content from special arrangement.

Sponsor Content

If you sign up with certain sponsors, you are given access to their database of images or videos earmarked to use as virtual sales samples. You must use the sponsor content to only promote them and not other programs. You can truly assure your customers the images they see in your gallery come from your sponsor's paysite. Just about every major adult sponsor these days offers their webmasters FREE content.

Free Plug-Ins

Pre-built galleries or video feeds that reside in their own console or can be applied to a site with HTML code are called plug-ins. The plug-in that's free is usually served from the host of the provider. All you have to do is link directly to it. They are free because they usually include some form of advertising on them.

Special Arrangement Free

There are companies that allow you to access their database of free content in trade for different types of advertising. One might make you add their banner to each and every-full size image on an individual HTML page. Another will want you to join an opt-in mailing list like a resource site. You will even find some that just want you to fly their banner on your main or gallery page.
