Lesson #10
Custom Photography
Written By Titmowse
When shopping around for adult website content, it has probably occurred to you that you might not be the only webmaster who has purchased and downloaded a particular set of images or video clips. You cannot possibly be the only adult webmaster on the Internet to buy that picture set of Brandee and Her Dildo for $35.00. You may have encountered the
content you bought when simply searching the sites listed on a favorite top list or saw the video clips you downloaded on another gallery page. Odds are great that if you buy content from a provider, (whether they are the photographer or the broker) there are at least ten or twenty other webmasters with legal a legal license to use that same content.
One of the most critical qualities a flourishing adult website can have is fresh, unseen content. One can hire photographers and models and lease studio time to create one's own exclusive adult imagery. That way, you can insure your images will be totally exclusive to your website. Creating your own content will mean unique content, but it will also mean expenses into the thousands of dollars. It's true you have to spend a lot of money if you want to open a proper paysite, but you can save costs with smart investments.
A smart investment when it comes to getting the best and most unique adult content is to find a custom photographer.
A custom photographer is pretty much any photographer. You will find that the majority of those who take pictures and film video for the adult Internet are more than happy to do special request work for an additional fee. An adult photographer may be brilliant, but most usually welcome outside input for new settings or costumes. The Internet lends itself to obsolescence especially when it comes to online porn.
Your website is as fresh and hot as your newest model and each model is old the moment she hits your page. Just like every day makes a newly legal adult site viewer; everyday makes a new dirty picture to look at. The adult photographer is constantly looking for new ways to light, pose and
portray sexual fantasy. Your special request is (in most circumstances) not offensive to those who provide the meat and potatoes of an adult site. Usually, getting an adult content provider to shoot exclusive content for you only takes asking and money.
How much extra you pay a content provider depends on the provider and the type of content you want. Of course, if you ask for elaborate costumed scenarios in themed settings, that's going to cost much more than asking for single-model masturbation shots of a babe wearing a t-shirt with your logo.
The type of porn you request will affect the cost of your content. Certain acts are going to cost more. Models will be paid more for hardcore posing than they would for solo softcore shots. There might be bondage type content you want and because many adult photographers won't shoot it, you'll pay more to find one that will.
There are many factors that go into what a photographer will charge for exclusive content. Keep in mind, the general content they make available to every webmaster is always going to return a profit for them. That special shoot you ask for will only profit them once. Nevertheless, taking in to account the amount of money you would spend hiring your own photographer, recruiting, licensing and paying your models, leasing/buying equipment and studio space and other untold costs is far less than paying a bit more for a professional to do it for you.
Things you should keep in mind when shopping for an exclusive content provider are:
If your photographer is going to provide the models, they should also provide proof of their age. Along with the license to use their work, your photographer should provide copies of the model's Identification for Title 18 compliance.
There are different types of exclusivity. Some photographers will release their content to you for exclusive use for a limited time. The then will make it available to the mass market
of webmasters, so they will see a better return on their work. Some will sell you their work exclusively but will stipulate you can only use it for so many websites. Other providers will happy to shoot exclusive content for you, but don't want you giving it away to affiliated webmasters in your sponsor program.
Taking pictures or shooting video costs money. You can't expect a professional photographer to shoot an entire series of images without an assurance of some compensation for the cost of their time and expenses. You need to establish clearly what you want. See if the provider can produce some test shots so you can be in total agreement before they spend costly time on their efforts. Explore their portfolios. Ask for sample images. Know your photographer.
