Lesson #02
What Exactly is a Free Site?
Written By Titmowse
A free site should not be confused with an adult free-host. A free site means that your visitors access your page and content for free. A free host is an adult host that allows you server space in trade for the header/footer banners ads. You can have a free site on a free-host but the two have completely different definitions.
A free site should also not be confused with a Thumbnail Gallery page. A Thumbnail Gallery is a single page that contains thumbnailed images, which are linked to their larger versions. You can have galleries on your free site, but one gallery by itself is not a site, it's a gallery. You can learn more on that in our Macro TGP classroom.
Also, a banner farm is not a free site. A banner farm is a page where all the surfer sees is ad banners. Way back in the dark ages, adult webmasters made money with banner farms but now they’re considered obnoxious and no search engine or link list with accept them.
To have what is determined a true free site, your surfers must be able to traverse the whole of your web without having to pay any money.
A Thumbnail Gallery Post (TGP) is a free site. The surfer's get to click on all the links within a TGP for free. A Link List is a free site where the visitor can view the entire list and pay no money. A blog is a free site and the surfer can read your stories or reviews or musings.
A free site does not have to be a TGP or Top List or a blog. You can make a free site on almost any theme. You could a have a site that features erotica or anime or soft-core galleries. You could make a portal site that has news items, links to images, an online dildo shop and maybe even, a joke of the day.
There are many sources of both free and paid content for you to use on your free site. Most sponsors let their affiliate webmasters use free images, galleries and clips on free sites. Also, remember that there are tons of content providers that sell image sets and clips at truly affordable prices. Whether you use sponsor content or paid or a combination of both, it’s up to you.
You can fashion your free site in any way you like. The point being that for your site to be considered free, you can’t charge your surfers for access. The standard format for a free site is: A warning page, a main page and two-four additional pages of content.
