Lesson #07 Content For Your Free Site
    Written By Titmowse

If you open a free adult site you will naturally need content to offer your visitors. You could throw a bunch of affiliate links on your free site, but that tactic (known as a banner farm) will only succeed in disappointed porn surfers. A free adult site should be what it implies, a site that gives the user free glimpses of smut. To put free content on your free adult site, you will want to know the different types of content available to you and how to incorporate them on your page.

Always keep in mind that a free adult site will not make you money if you simply just post images and videos at no charge. You should understand that your free site is an end to a means. A free site makes money by teasing the surfer with samples and effective advertising. A free site is simply another way to lure your potential customers into your web of affiliate programs or a paysite you may own. Use the content on your free site wisely.

Don't throw out that baby with the bathwater by giving away so much free stuff, the surfer has no need to join a paysite.

The consideration for you in the attainment of content is if you should use the free images and video a sponsor provides or if you should buy your own licensed imagery. Your choice depends on your ability to pay and whether or not the sponsor content will serve your needs. A review of the types of content will help you get a better idea of which to choose:

    Free Content

There are many sources of free content you can obtain to use on your free site. Sponsors give away images and video to webmasters who sign up to promote their programs. As long as you use the content to promote their services, your sponsor is more than happy to let you download their imagery for your site. Some sponsors offer tons of free content, others only give away a minimal amount to their webmasters. Sponsor content is a great sales tool for generating sign-ups but since so many other webmasters are also using it, it can become overexposed quickly.

There are other sources of free adult content. Many free adult hosts give content to the webmasters to use on their hosted pages. There are also free content providers who let you use their goods in trade for banner placement on your site. Most times their banner must appear on your main page and any page the images reside upon. There are also free plug-in content providers that will let you link to their products, which reside on their servers.

There are very few free content providers who allow the free site owner to use them, as they prefer their goods to be protected behind the safety of a password or an AVS ID service.

You can also get free content from webmaster resource sites in trade for registration. If you join up with them (usually by opting in to their newsletter) then you can download the free content.

With all free content, read the terms of service carefully. If you choose to use free content and do not abide by the rules of its provision, you will get yourself into a lot of trouble.

    Paid Content

You might wonder about the logic behind buying content that you're going to give away to your surfers. There are several good reasons to pay for licensed content that appears on a free adult site.

Reason number one is paid content is far more unique than free content. A surfer will enjoy your site better if what you offer them has not been seen before. A free site with fresh content will portray your page and sponsors in a better light. New images and video will excite your visitors into signing up with your sponsor or paysite.

Another reason paid content is good for a free site is that it costs less than ever before. You can acquire sometimes as many as 100 images for less than 20 dollars from some reputable providers like ZIPContent.

Make certain that when you purchase content you see to it that it's properly licensed and that the provider is in compliance with TITLE 18 (read more about Title 18 in our Legal Industry Primer). Also, read the terms of service from your provider. Many have very specific limitations on the use of their products. You might not be able to resize or cut up images. You might be able to only use paid content on a certain numbers of sites. A thorough reading of your provider's rules will tell you these limitations.

Once again, the content you put on your free site should make you money or you've only succeeded in wasting bandwidth. If you give the user too much hardcore, then you defeat the purpose of selling your sponsors. If you don't give them enough content, then you lose them forever. You want your site to be a blend of sample images nested amongst enticing ads and sales text.

To find content for your free site, here are some great links:

Adult Content has never been as affordable as it is in today's market. If you are serious about your online project - dish out a little green for fresh content. Your surfers will love you for it!
