Your free adult site is basically a big, virtual commercial for your sponsors or other affiliated interests. What makes a commercial effective is repetition. A commercial or ad repeats or reappears so often it enters the observer's subconscious. When the observer/customer decides it's time to buy something, the product that clings most to their mind (because of good advertising) will be the product they buy.

Of course you want to continually bring new visitors to your adult website. Online sales are a numbers game and the more visitors you get, the more likely you will make money. Just the same, the returning customer is an even better sales opportunity than the new one.

Getting a signup to your sponsor on a surfer's first visit is pretty darned difficult. Selling to returning surfers gets easier and easier each time they access your free adult site. How do you turn first-time surfers into repeat customers?

Updates!

Updating your free adult site will not only help you keep your surfer's coming back, it will help you get more new ones. Search engines and directories like repeating customers too. By making sure the sites on their lists are fresh and interesting, they get more visitors. A stagnant adult site that hasn't been updated in months tends to fall farther and farther down the list of a search engine.

Adult top lists like fresh content also. They have a strong need to please their surfers with the newest up-to-date links. They understand like you should that regular updates bring recurring visits. They know that a surfer may not click an ad banner the first time, the second time or even the third time. Yet the more their customers see the ads served on a site they've built a trusting relationship with, the greater the chances are those surfers will become paying patrons. Some adult top lists even have update submission forms for sites already in their list. They want you to let them know when you've updated your site and reward you by bumping your update to the top.

What Does an Update Consist of?

Technically any time you add a new logo graphic or layout redesign, you've updated your page. However for your free site to be updated in the eyes of your surfers, you need to add new content. You need to add new pictures or video or games or whatever is the meat of your adult page. You don't need to completely redesign your adult free site to have it considered updated. You don't need to flush out all your existing content and replace it with all new imagery. What you can do is as simple as adding one new gallery or video clip.

How Often Should You Update?

As often as you possibly can. Some free adult site owners update every single day. Some update once a month. Others update weekly. Naturally the free site that updates daily will have more repeaters each day. How often you update depends on your abilities and time. If you run a themed site of images, then a weekly or monthly update is appropriate. If you run a free TGP or top list, daily updates are almost imperative.

If you want your free adult site to continue to grow in traffic and repeat visitors, regular updates are your best way to insure that happens.
