While there might be transvestites who wish to become the opposite sex, not all transvestites are transsexuals. A transvestite is a person who wears the clothes of the opposite sex. Some get sexual gratification from cross-dressing. Some do it because they wish to pass for a member of the other sex. A good many transvestites do it because they’ve got a talent for illusion.

There might have been gender-confused souls from the past who took drastic measures to right the wrongs of nature, but true transsexuals are a twentieth century development. A transsexual is a person who has gone through clinical procedures and surgeries to change their gender. Through a combination of hormone injections and various operations, a man will become a woman or a woman will become a man. The transsexual is more than a person of a sex, adorned in the clothes of another. The transsexual is no illusionist. The transsexual goes through an actual physical transformation.

In the adult Internet, the transsexual niche is a very popular niche. There are hundreds and hundreds of thriving “tranny” sites both free and pay. There are tranny sponsor programs and tranny TGPs. There are content providers who specialize in shooting transsexual models. If you’re looking for a profitable niche, you can’t find one with more promise than the transsexual niche.

It’s hard to define the exact reason why the tranny niche is so hot. Part of its popularity is due to curiosity. Another part is due to the fact that a lot of folks are turned on by trannies. Men are visual creatures and there’s no vision more mind-blowing than a beautiful woman who used to be a man. Transsexuals are a phenomenon almost as new as the Internet itself. Back when the web belonged to a few universities and the DOD, there were only a handful of transsexuals in the world. Now there are millions of people surfing the net and there tens of thousands of transsexuals living on the planet.

The net will continue to grow. It’s looking like the number of folks who change genders will continue to increase. It’s only logical to assume that tranny fans will expand in number.

As a webmaster, you have to understand the concepts of both transsexuality and attraction to them. For example, gay men aren’t really a complimentary audience for transsexual content. Most gay men want their models to be male. There are female-to-male transsexuals who work in adult but very few in comparison to the male-to-female variety. On the adult Internet, the most prevalent transsexual models are male-to-female. However, there are two types of models in the sub-niche of male-to-female model. One is the full transsexual and the other is the Pre-op transsexual.

A full (post-op) transsexual has gone through the entire process. When the male is changed to a female, they’ve taken the hormone shots which has softened their skin, added fat to their frame and give them breasts. Plus they’ve had their penis/testicles removed and a vagina surgically constructed. The pre-op male-to-female might have breasts and smoother skin but they’ve yet to have their penis removed. When you market tranny content to surfers, you have to know the difference because your surfers have particular preferences. Some like the full deal, while others go nuts for the chicks with dicks. A thong and a tuck can hide a lot. Make sure you know whom you you’re selling to.

Any type of site can be a tranny site. You can build a paysite, a free site, a link list or a TGP. There’s that much available to the adult webmaster. There are quite a few content makers to shop from and a good number of sponsor programs for you to promote. Most TGPs include a tranny category for submission, as do most top lists. If you know your audience and market effectively, you can make a living in the transsexual niche just as you would in the straight or gay end of the adult Internet.
