What is a Paysite?

A paysite is one where the surfer must pay a fee to access a member’s area. In hierarchical terms, paysites are at the top of the mountain. Paysite owners make the most money and serve the highest-quality product. Everyone wants to own a paysite but not everyone is cut out for the task.

The modern adult paysite is a massive undertaking. One must incorporate excellent design, superior hosting along with gigs and gigs of content. In addition, the paysite must have a billing solution as well as competent customer support. Even with all of this, a paysite will go nowhere without learned and aggressive marketing.

Design

Granted, there are successful paysites that do quite well with an amateurish design. However, these sites are not the rule but the exception. Excellent site design isn’t about flashy graphics. It’s about salesmanship. One of the most important parts of the paysite design is the tour. If a surfer follows a tour all the way to the signup page and then leaves, it’s very possible the design is to blame. Each image, each navigational element, each word of sales text must be laid out in a fashion that screams: BUY ME. Designers know what sells. You don’t have to hire a designer to build your paysite but you’d be a fool if you didn’t at least entertain the possibility.

Hosting

When you take payments from members, you have a responsibility to give them what they paid for 24/7/365. The only way to do this is buy investing in exceptional hosting. A little $10.00 a month virtual account just won’t cut the mustard. To keep your paysite live and reliable, you need big pipes and strong boxes. A large, virtual hosting account is passable for a start-up but eventually, you’re going to have to upgrade to co-located or dedicated hosting. Your members will demand refunds if they can’t load your paysite because you overshot your bandwidth.

Content

Long gone are the days when a webmaster could slap a hundred crappy pics on a server and call it a paysite. Today’s paysite needs gigs and gigs of pics, vids and assorted smutty fun. One can’t expect people to buy the same thing they see on TGP galleries and free sites. Your paysite must offer content that no-one else has. Your content must be something worth paying for. Even the most profitable single-girl amateur sites offer more content than just their main model.

Marketing

How will they find you if they don’t know you exist? Forget “Field of Dreams”. Just because you build it, that doesn’t mean they will come. You have to market your paysite constantly and assertively and you have to do it without resorting to spam.

If you’re an Internet marketing genius, good for you. Most folks aren’t and even if they are, they have paysites to run. There are qualified services that specialize in marketing paysites. Investing in such a service isn’t luxury, it’s a practical necessity.
