The truth is, adult purchasing is much more prevalent when the customer is allowed instant access for instant payment.
The easiest, fastest way to take payments over the web is by credit card. What’s unfortunate is that many people don’t have a credit card. Aside from countries, which don’t use credit cards, there are still hundreds of thousands of people who simply choose not to use those fund-sucking pieces of plastic. Sometimes it’s a matter of finances but chances are, the majority of your cc members are no richer than the non-cc members you could have. The only thing standing between those elusive possible customers and your bank account is how to get their money?
It may take longer to get paid, but the ability to accept payments for memberships by check or money order is a feature offered by many paysites. Quite simply, a member pays by check or sends a money order to you. When the check clears through your bank, you get your money and the member gets their access. When the money order comes in, you’re in the clear.
When you offer the option to pay by check, you have two ways to do so. You can ask that users print and fill out a consent form along with a check. They then have to mail the check to you and then you'll put that check in the bank and wait for it to clear. Once the funds come through, you'll contact your new member to give them their access code/password.
Another way is to setup online check processing through a provider. With online checking, the process moves a little faster. The surfer enters their checking account number instead of a CC number. Some providers who will process online checks for you are:
Slower but surer than checks is the money order payment. A money order is practically cash. There’s no waiting for clearance with a money order. As soon as you put it in the bank, it’s in the bank. To take these payments, you’re going to have to provide a printable webform, which the surfer can fill out and send with their money order. In the form, you’ll have the customer verify their age and consent to the membership agreement.

Payment by check or money order is an alternative you can offer to your surfers. It’s extra work. You have to wait for payment. You’ll check your snail mailbox more. You’ll have to add members by hand. But if everything goes right, you’ll still get paid.
