Making a quality gallery is a skill. If you want to make money from galleries, you’re going to have to learn how to build one which appeals to both reviewers and surfers. Your gallery won’t reach surfers if TGP don’t list it. You won’t make money when you’re listed if your gallery doesn’t sell. If you get the hang of good gallery creation, you can make a good living like so many others.

Still, there will always be galleries that have a better position on popular TGPs, in spite of your brilliance. These galleries aren’t necessarily better than yours. These gallery makers aren’t any smarter than you are. These gallery makers do something that guarantees they’ll get the top spot on a TGP. They pay to be listed.

You can pay for a TGP listing too. All it takes is money. Not every TGPs offers paid listings, just the busy ones. Those TGP operators learned long ago to charge bucks for the top spots. Agree or disagree with this practice. However, you improve your chance to sell and make money when your gallery is number one on a major TGP.

Before you spend money for a TGP spot, there are some guidelines you should follow.

Can you build a killer gallery?

Paid listings aren’t for amateurs. In order to make a profit; your paid listing has to generate enough money to pay for the listing plus the cost of bandwidth. When you pay for a listing, expect to receive thousands and thousands of hits on your server. Is your gallery good enough to make money? The only way you’ll know is by practice. Before you buy your way to riches, learn from the ground floor. Build and submit and build and submit. When you get to where your hand-submitted galleries make you money, then you’re ready to pay.

Do you have the stuff?

Do you have your own domain and your own hosting? A sponsor gallery on the top of a TGP is there because a sponsor paid for it. TGP reviewers don’t favor galleries on free servers. No self-respecting TGP operator is going to take money for a gallery with free-host headers. The same goes with free content. If you want to pay for a listing, get your own hosting and buy some content.

Know your TGP.

Some TGP webmasters charge as little a $100.00 a year for premium list placement. Others charge $300.00 for a week. Price doesn’t always match traffic quality with a TGP. Once again, it’s best to practice TGP submitting the no pay way. After a point, you will know which TGP offer the best traffic for your interests. Pay for listings on TGPs who have already made money for you.

The only way to understand TGP is to experience the process the hard way. You have to build galleries, submit galleries and make money from galleries, before you buy your way to the top. If you’re really no good a gallery creation, then you might want to look into paying for gallery design. But that’s for another lesson.
