Search Engine Overview: Key Concepts
Written By Cyndalie
Choosing the right keywords for web page marketing in the search engines is a crucial part in getting the most out of ranking results and establishing the relevancy of your web site for competitive keyword phrases. I have read articles about what the right numbers of keywords is optimal for Meta Tags, but it's all horse-pucky…Guidelines for the uneducated. Nonsense. Irrelevant to the current concepts behind good SE marketing. There is no magic number that will guarantee a ranking every time. Factors such as level of competition, the age of sites you are up for ranking against, the number of relevant incoming and outgoing links you have, and the uniqueness of your keyword combinations and word usage.
That boldly stated I'm going to try to teach you a new formula, or concept to choosing keyword and writing keyword rich content to implement into your web page
Choosing keywords to develop content for promotion can either be fun or grueling, depends on your method and perspective. Some webmasters search related or competing web sites to harvest keywords, in the hopes of duplicating the visibility and results their competitors may have. But the best way to choose keywords is to formulate your own keywords and phrases by first looking at the content of each page you are going to optimize. If every page of your web site is optimized for the unique content appearing on each page, the more words and ways people have to find you. By choosing relevant Primary Keyword phrases for each page, you can blend or integrate those key phrases into the actual text of each page, naturally increasing the amount of keyword phrases, relevance, and density.
Oftentimes you want to rank for general or extremely specific phrases that go beyond the content of your page. Rather than harvesting more keywords than you need and then sorting them out, try this concept I like to call the "Keyword Pyramid"
Let's say we are promoting a basic Thumbnail Gallery page. This is very general as to show an Example, and please remember this is advice on how to select the right amount and type of keywords for your site. Unfortunately there is no magical solution, and if I knew it I'd have a Cozy Party at my mansion and invite all of you. Try to stay with me.
1 X1
2 X2 X3
3 X4 X5 X6
4 X7 X8 X9 X10
5 X1 + (X2 + X3) + X1 + ( X4 + X5 + X6)
+ X1 + ( X7 + X8 + X9 + X10)
X1 is the Primary Keyword and X2-X10 decreases in order of relevant phrase matches, priority, and competition. (Tip: Search Google to see how many sites you will be 'up against' to get an
idea). Building a pyramid structure of keywords for each page really helps nail down phrases when writing general or descriptive content. The idea is to rank for as many keywords/phrases as possible with only one page. Let me re-phrase the formula using keywords so that you can see where this is going.
1
sex
2
xxx porn
3
free
adult pics
4
lesbian fetish
amateur hardcore
5
sex xxx porn sex free adult pics sex lesbian fetish amateur
hardcore
Notice in line 5 there is one primary keyword for every second, third and fourth key word level. Content for your title, description, and promo page content is contained in line 5. You simply need to construct sentences around these keywords. Here are some examples:
Amateur hardcore lesbian sex pics and free xxx porn! Free xxx sex pics for adults only! Amateur fetish hardcore and xxx porn pics. Free amateur sex pics and lesbian hardcore.
Sex pics free. Hardcore fetish sex with xxx lesbian pics and amateur porn. XXX lesbian sex pics and free hardcore fetish sex pics.
Vary your style, but try not to over do it. Fetish sex and hardcore lesbian xxx porn pics. Hardcore amateur porn for adults only. Get creative as it may or may not be visible, it should be readable and make sense to your visitors. This type of content is great for title, description, hidden input, alt tags, layered content, etc. Try this handy tool to generate content using the keyword pyramid for more examples.
<Title> Free adult xxx porn pics of lesbian sex, fetish sex, amateur, and hardcore xxx sex pics. </Title>
<Meta Name="Description" content="Hardcore xxx fetish sex amateur porn pictures of hot naked lesbians and free sex pics for you to enjoy!">
<meta name="keyword" content="free porn pics, fetish sex, amateur pics, hardcore sex pics, lesbian pics, hardcore amateur sex, xxx pics, free sex pics, …">
Use adjectives or descriptive text to counterweight your keywords. Hot xxx sex pics of naked sexy lesbians in hardcore amateur porn pictures. Construct titles, descriptions,
promotional content, HTML content, and keyword tags using this method for relevancy throughout your page. Design and vary your keyword tags using this method as well, but do them last so that they reflect actual written phrases and content in your page. Written content of your page should not be as saturated but should include some of the top keyword phrases you want to rank for. Working with written, visible content is recommended.
Each page can be optimized to build Secondary Keywords onto your Primary Keyword base. In the same respect more optimized pages and promo domains
can be built under the home page and linking to the "top" of the Keyword Pyramid, making the pyramid taller, highly relevant, and covering more area (keywords).
Think of it as a tree, research popular and specific phrases that will bring you targeted, achievable traffic from the search engines. People today are learning how to search and find exactly
what they want. If you have it, make it easy to be found.
If you are still unsure not only what keywords are reasonable goals to target for ranking, or what keywords phrases, relevant to your site, are worth targeting in order to not only increase traffic but that will drive you sales; you may want to try running a pay per click campaign provided by a major search engine. By investing $100-$500 in keyword traffic you can run experimental campaigns on keyword phrases relevant to your site to find out which ones result in referring sales, or the most traffic depending on your goals. By running campaigns on 3-5 word phrase sets you can then determine with confidence if the keywords you have in mind to rank for are worth the time and effort to bring you the results that will keep you in business for years to come.
