Lesson #36 Profiling International Traffic Programs - Part #1

Over the past year several international traffic programs have been launched that are designed to create an opportunity to generate sales from the global market. The advantages of these programs, when used correctly, can be astounding by providing your site with the ability to generate sales from around the entire world. Often it becomes too complicated and expensive for webmasters to translate and maintain translated sites in multiple languages, and finding an acceptable payment option for every region around the globe can become a complex nightmare. By partnering with an international traffic program, you can do anything from geo-sort out your international traffic and redirect it by language or region to providing payment options that can facilitate customers from around the world.

However, each international traffic program is a bit different from the other. This article is one of two parts. The first 'Profiling International Traffic Programs' will explain how a few of the top current global program work and their advantages. Part two of this article, 'Utilizing International Traffic Programs' will go into depth regarding how to use different program types to achieve different results and how your options and decisions can affect other seemingly unrelated marketing decisions.

SexMoney

SexMoney was originally developed in Europe to cater to the diverse languages and payment options that Europeans are familiar with and comfortable using. Within the past year SexMoney opened its doors to the US market and began accepting American webmasters and traffic and opened an office in Florida in the summer of 2003. Still primarily a European based company, SexMoney provides 350 sites across 60 different niches in 25 different languages and provides 9 different payment options for their surfers. One thing that set's SexMoney apart from the rest is that it is not a dialer or cobranded dialer – it is more like your standard affiliate program focused on converting your international traffic – not pushing them into a forced (and blind) payment option.

In an interview with Kath Blackwell, I asked her to talk about a few highlights about the SexMoney Program. “We do our own in-house processing,” Kath began. “We are able to offer our members easy one-click purchasing. Members upgrade and purchase additional packages or recurring memberships with just one easy click from our member area. We keep our customers happy by offering tons of fresh content opportunities – and we keep them recurring by offering numerous upgrade and up-sell options. “

And the program isn't just easy for surfers to subscribe and use, SexMoney provides webmasters with intensive statistical information about the users experience as well. “With our 100% transparent stats technology, our webmasters can track ALL SALES made within their members' accounts,” she continued. “Webmasters can see how long they've been logged on, when they log on, what content they've viewed – even view new sales and renewals all from one easy-to-use tracking sheet.”

But what's most important about SexMoney is the bottom line. SexMoney offers high payouts – up to $70 per signup or 50-70% lifetime recurring on all billing methods. This means that regardless how they pay you earn the same commission rate! Payment options include credit cards, SMS, web call (broadband dialers), prepaid cards, debit cards, dialers, and more. SexMoney operates like most standard affiliate programs. You can either use their geo-sorting option which is one line of code on your page that will redirect any surfers who come to your site if their browsers language setting is anything other than English. For example, if a surfer with a browsers language preference set as German, they will be taken to a SexMoney site that is in German. You keep your own domestic traffic! Another option is to link directly to individual SexMoney sites by niche that you select and place country flags, translated banners, or other types of links on your site. We will discuss more options and advantages on how to use this program in part two of this article.

EuroDialer

EuroDialer provides a bit of the best of both worlds by offering a custom dialer you can add to your site as an additional payment option, or as a standard program offering the ability to link directly to a site with various language and payment options.

Eurodialer is the English Department of Carpe Diem, the ”#1 French Adult Sponsor” since 1998 and has over 60 websites available in a multitude of languages, including French, English, German, Spanish, and Italian. Like SexMoney, EuroDialer also geo-sorts visitors by language preference and their dialer recognizes the surfer's type of connection automatically - whether modem, cable or broadband, and covers over 240 countries.

I had a chance to talk to Nicolas (aka “TAFKAP”) from EuroDialer's Sales & Partnership department. I asked him, “Why EuroDialer?” and he was kind enough to offer some additional information about their program.

“Dialers have a bad rep overseas due to too many people being screwed up by dialer companies,” stated Nicholas. “But, in Europe, people do trust dialers instead of Credit Cards! Only 22% of the population in Europe will use their credit card on the Internet. Reputable dialers companies use domestic lines in the main European countries. Such lines are much more stable than international lines. Moreover, these lines provide higher payouts and prevent many charge back risks. Consequently, reputable dialer companies can pay their partners right on time and do not charge back for any unpaid or contested connections.”

So there are 3 OPTIONS to make money with EuroDialer, consider it beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Here' is a quick outline:

Basic Affiliate Program: You're a webmaster and just want to promote their websites or divert your international traffic by language this is where you start. Dialer commissions are based on rates per country +50% recurring commission on credit card signups with no charge-backs or deductions.

Custom Built Dialers: If you have a paysite with your own content or members area but your payment processing service does not offer a dialer option for international customers, you can create one using this program from Eurodialer. The advantage is that you can build a dialer and link the traffic back to accessing your member's area after their payment is executed. However make sure that you can provide your international members with a language or type of universal interface they can understand. You may want to hire a translator for your site or use symbols in your design that anyone can understand.

Dialers for Sponsor Programs: If you own or run an affiliate program this is a payment option you may want to include in your program so your affiliates don't need to go elsewhere. Eurodialer gives you the rates to each country the dialer service is available in and you can then fix your own rates with your affiliates. Each month they pay you the commission your dialer earned and you then allocate the commissions to your affiliates under your own conditions.
