The term picnic originally meant: an outdoors gathering or excursion to which each guest brought food along to be eaten. Picnics always meant simplicity, good food and good times. So lets pack up some fresh bread, cold drinks and some bean salad and lets have a picnic!

On his return to the French Riviera, his sporting Daimler Phoenix caused such a sensation that he decided to enter it into a local touring competition under the name of “Mercedes”, after his 9 year old daughter.

One secret to loosing weight is making sure that you don't skip your breakfast. 25 percent of adults don't eat in the morning. A recent study by the University of Colorado and Brown University may actually change that bad habit. Their study reported that 95 percent of participants who successfully lost 30 pounds ate breakfast four or more times a week. James Hill Ph.D. co-founder of the National Weight Control Registry, says that “eating breakfast is a good idea because it helps with hunger management throughout the day.”

That actually sharing your food with bees and wasps during a picnic is a “sweet” idea. Dewey Caron Ph.D., a professor of entomology at the University of Delaware, advises to “put out a small of whatever you're serving, preferably something sweet. Once bees discover this snack, you can carefully move it away form the entertainment area,” he says. “Bees and wasps are highly social insects, relating direction and distance of nectar and pollen sources, and yes, whatever you're serving. Once they spread the word, they'll flock to your decoy plate.”

This year marks the 100th anniversary of everyone's favorite childhood snack – Barnum's Animal Crackers. Originally a Victorian-era British import, the animal-shaped cookies were produced by a number of independent American bakers until 1902, when the first Barnum's Animal Crackers were sold by the National Biscuit Company in the trademark red circus-wagon boxes. To commemorate the centennial, a new animal, the koala bear, will join the menagerie of lions, giraffes, and elephants.
