Do looks and sex, determine the type of job that a person can land? Apparently so! A study by Ken Podratz, a Rice University graduate student in psychology discovered that beautiful women who applied for jobs, such as switch-board operators and tow-truck drivers, lost these same positions to less attractive women. In his study, men were much more eager to hire attractive female employees for jobs that required public relations like receptionists or customer service reps. However, female employers were not. And for jobs where physical appearance was not so important, both men and women hired less attractive people. So I guess looks can be deceiving.

Only 5% of all mammal species (excluding humans) are know to be monogamous compared to 90% of all bird species. Among birds, some of the most faithful ones are penguins, cranes, pigeons, and parrots. Geese, swans, doves and albatrosses are totally faithful to only one partner … until death does them part.
