    Judge Me!
      Written By Titmowse

Three words. Three words presented as a plea. Three words posted on a message board. Three simple words can literally change the fate of the adult webmaster who posts them. Three words:

"Critique my site"?
New adult webmasters ask this often. Lamentably few of them are prepared for the replies they receive in response to that three-word question. Neophyte porn slingers innocently stumble into a baptism of fire when they request a review of their creations. There are legendary threads that center on some poor newbie tearfully defending their dignity against the venomous onslaught of adult webmaster asides. The fresh adult webhead who asks for comment gets it, with a vengeance.

Fear of such a response can prevent anyone from getting help. The lurking newbie reads threads from others like them where the subject is a site review. They see the sometimes-horrid comments made by supposed professionals like: "Quit the business now!" "That is the worst gallery I’ve ever seen!" "Are you a fucking idiot? You’ll never make a dime in porn!" With such vitriol it’s a wonder that porny greenhorns still ask: "Critique my site"?

That fear is a shame. Every new adult webmaster comes to a point in their orientation where they need an experienced, outside opinion. All newbies in this biz have something to learn. No matter their previous experience, they jump in these waters not knowing how to swim. This industry has no degree program and its rules are yet to be made. We’re all learning as we go. All we can do is try stuff until it works. We veterans hold the secret knowledge. We know what works. We can determine the salability of a website better than anyone else can. We are all teachers and students. Yet we drive unseasoned webmasters away in droves with snide remarks and witty retorts.

Then again, maybe it’s not such a shame. This is a hella tough business. Most of us are in it for the money. We don’t want to drown because we grabbed onto the hand of the wrong fool. This kitchen is hot and not a good environment for the sensitive. An adult webmaster has to have thick skin. Just like any profession, the strong survive. The newbie who looks past the chest beating will often find gems of guidance. Hypersensitive rookies get upset at even the slightest negativity. Nobody has time for weenies. Some newbs want all the answers and don’t want to listen when they hear the truth. The truth is there are no easy answers and nobody has to help anyone.

The adult online entertainment industry is unique. We freely exchange ideas, opinions, traffic and hosting. We behave in a manner unheard of in the corporate world. Competitors work in congruity. Mega porn moguls speak directly to affiliates and those affiliates talk back. A little guy can challenge a big guy in an open forum and nobody gets fired because there are no real bosses. Because of this freedom our industry is thriving. We’re breaking the rules and making them anew. Newbies and old soldiers alike, we are the future of e-commerce.

In spite of possible humiliation, in hopes of possible assistance, new adult webmasters still need advice. They still need direction, constructive criticism and the occasional kick-in-the-ass. That’s why it’s good to know you have a place to go when you want your new adult site reviewed. You’ll be comforted with the knowledge that you can post those three little words at a very Cozy message board.

Cozy Campus is the message board for all adult webmasters. We provide a comfy spot where ideas are free but hate will cost you. Aside from our general Cozy Discussion forum, we also have two other forums created with help in mind. Our Newbie forum is exactly that. Ask your beginner questions there, that’s what it’s for. You won’t be slammed. You won’t be mocked. Our Cozy Critics forum is one of the few of its kind anymore. Cozy Critics is a forum where you receive helpful, productive analysis of your page or site without bullshit or unfounded accusations of Spam. At Cozy we make it our mission to be the one site you can depend on. We want you to succeed. We want you to do your best. We want you to someday be the expert so you can make some newbie feel Cozy.
