Who says you have to have a regular old porn site? Who says you have to follow the herd? Hell, who says you even need dirty pictures to have an adult web page? You are free. Free to make any darned kind of site your mind can imagine. This is your business and your effort. Your adult site can do great things when you don’t follow the herd. Sometimes the best path is the one we create on our own.

You see them every day, the same old TGPs, top lists, free sites and paysites. They’ve all got the formula down. Teasing text and sample shots. Images with ads. Spice up boring layouts with niche content and sponsors. Blah. Blah. Blah. Let’s face it, most adult sites contain pretty much the same content, different models. Where is that website that’s different? Where is the content that is out of the norm? We twiddle our thumbs waiting for the wave of broadband to overtake us and look for new marketing methods. Who out there is creating something -that works right now- from current technology for a majority of surfers still on dial-up? Who is cooking up that next great idea in adult content and adult online entertainment?

Could it be you?
If you have a vision, if you have a novel idea and you’re not developing it, who is stopping you? Say you’ve got a great concept for a website but it’s not really an adult site. Are you afraid you will be unable to push your new imagining as well as you can push porn? Are you afraid others will laugh at you and you will fail miserably? Aren’t your fears unfounded when you realize in world of anonymity, free content and free hosting the only thing to lose it time?

For all their bragging the folks who claim they’ve "been around" since the beginning have only been at it for ten years tops. The Internet has and will turn on a dime. What works today probably won’t work tomorrow. Those "old-timers" have had to change along with the rest of us. This is the age of new ideas and there’s no reason you should be shut out.

Do you want to start an e-zine? Do you want to build an online support club? Do you want to sell your own artwork? What the hell is the holdup? If anybody knows how to sell on the Internet, it’s an adult webmaster.

Most people don’t even know the difference between a META tag and a TITLE tag. Most people don’t even know what a META tag is for. Most people don’t know they’re supposed to submit their site to search engines, much less how to do it effectively. Most people don’t know that if you can’t get traffic you can buy traffic. Most people are in the mainstream and are paying mainstream prices. They’re getting screwed left and right by advertising firms, hosts and crappy site app plugins. You got it all over online mainstream. Whatever you do has to be better.

Nobody’s asking you to give up porn. Why would we ask you to give up the one thing we all know sells on the net? It’s great to be able to market and profit from a product that’s perfectly attuned to the web. As crappy as it is, people are making money in the Internet mainstream. More individuals are shopping online and their numbers grow by the moment. There is a world other that porn and it is good. Porn is good. Why not do both?

You know you don’t have to buy anything. You know you can sell other people’s stuff. You know how to make a site presentable. You know how to market it. You know how to give people what they want. What do you want? Do you want to expand? Are you getting a bit bored with same old smut? Do you have a vision? Do you have a dream?

We’ve all had crummy ideas. We’ve all had plans that failed. We’ve all believed in something in spite of others. If you know a better way, I say do it and do it soon. You’ve nothing to lose but your time.
